DarkSpeed – Privacy Policy

DarkSpeed

  1. Data We Collect
    • Location Data (GPS). The App uses your device’s GPS to measure speed and distance. Location data is processed locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party, except as described below under Analytics.
    • Ride Statistics. Ride data (speed, distance, duration) is stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
    • Analytics (Firebase Analytics). The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data, including:
      • Ride events (ride started, paused, resumed, finished)
      • Aggregated ride statistics (distance, duration, speed — no GPS coordinates)
      • Device type, OS version, app version

This data is collected to understand how the App is used and improve it. It is processed by Google LLC under their Privacy Policy. No personally identifiable information is included in these events. On iOS, the App does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA).

    • Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics). The App uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to automatically report app crashes. Crash reports may include device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace of the crash. No GPS data or ride statistics are included in crash reports.
    • Advertising — Android only (Google AdMob). The Android version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob. We use non-personalized (contextual) ads only — your data is not used to build an advertising profile or to target ads based on your behavior. To deliver these ads, Google AdMob may access your device’s advertising identifier (AAID) and IP address for purposes such as ad serving, frequency capping, and fraud prevention. The iOS version displays no ads and does not collect any advertising identifier.
  2. Data We Do NOT Collect
    • No user accounts or registration
    • No names, email addresses, or contact information
    • No GPS coordinates or route data sent off-device
    • We do not sell your personal data, and ads on Android are non-personalized
  3. Third-Party Services
  4. Data Retention
Ride statistics stored locally on your device remain there until you delete them within the App or uninstall the App. Analytics, crash report, and advertising data is retained by Google according to their standard retention policies.
  5. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
  6. Your Rights
Since ride data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it — you can delete individual rides within the App or uninstall the App to remove all local data. For data processed by Firebase, you may contact Google directly.
  7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the „Last updated” date above.
